Despite the absence of so many first team players, another brave display from the remaining fit and available 11 players for the Kestrels.
The game was goalless until 18 minutes after some neat short possession based football involving Knight, Bell & Hulley allowing Hirst the opportunity to strike at goal, but a corner soon gave the visitors the lead which they doubled just before half-time.
With no substitutes on a warm morning, fitness again took it's toll on the boys. Sloppy play allowed Bharat to score 2 quick goals in the second half so a change to a 3-5-2 formation gave the boys more attacking options. Prescod soon went close when clean through after good work from Kainth & Russell in midfield.
Late on Bootheway was given the chance to shine on pitch, and despite strong defending from Stone, Gamble & Willcocks, late goals gave the scoreline a harsh look.
Credit to the boys that they never gave up and play the game in the right spirit. They look really good when playing with confidence and control as they did in the first half. They know if they can stick together through this tough period, then that'll serve them well later in the season when hopefully we have a fitter and fuller squad available for selection.
