The Kestrels fell to their 6th successive defeat, and despite a strong and encouraging second half display will almost certainly finish their league campaign bottom.
They started brightly with Stone's pace on the right and the lively Bootheway in a more advanced role, however poor defending allowed the visitors to grab the lead after 20 mins. An extremely harsh penalty for handball against Robinson was converted on the stroke of half-time which angered both players and spectators alike.
An early goal in the second half appeared to have totally killed off the Kestrels, but yet again, they responded superbly with Masters now commanding in midfield linked up with Knight & Russell who fed Hulley those through ball allowed Hirst to grab a potential lifeline, however the Kestrels failed to prevent the danger building on the left and a simple tap-in soon followed to put the game beyond doubt, but back came the Kestrels when Willcocks played the ball out of defence for Chamberlain to score off the post.
Plenty of late chances were created but sadly not taken which leaves the Kestrels deep in trouble in division 8.
