Leaders Too Strong

Brave display ends in away defeat
After holding Loughborough to a draw last week, could the Kestrels frustrate fellow title contenders Braunstone away from home?
Kibworth started brightly, clearly confident from the display the previous week with Plant and Kainth combining well in midfield, however an early injury forced Hirst to come on in an unfamiliar right wing back role.
The home team soon took advantage of some poor marking to take the lead, but the Kestrels sensed another shock when Robinson crossed for Knight who failed to connect but Stone struck a right foot effort from the edge of the box to score his third goal in last 5 matches and ensure we went into half-time on level terms.
Another injury this time to Bootheway, meant further enforced changes, and despite some fine defending from Willcocks and Gamble, the home team went in front soon after the re-start, and it wasn't long before their dominance earnt them further goals, but far from being dispirited, Prescod had an effort saved near the end as the Kestrels ended the year with a fine battling display against a very strong team.
Merry Christmas boys.
