Loughborough arrived on the 3G in Kibworth with a perfect 9 wins from 9 matches record, but an astonishing battling display from the Kestrels ensured they were the only team this season not to be beaten by high flying Loughborough.
The attitude from the entire team was faultless, demonstrated none more so than from Gamble in his new wing back role. With Willcocks playing in a defensive midfield role, Stone & Robinson provided the width on the counter attack which allowed Chamberlain to score a long range speculative effort.
Loughborough deservedly levelled soon before the break, and were soon dominating possession and chances. Prescod continued to work hard up front with Bell & Russell being competitive in midfield although the inevitable happened soon after Bootheway came out of goal and the visitors capitalised going in front despite superb defending throughout from Cowan. With less than 10 minutes remaining, the unthinkable happened when a break away found Knight in an advanced position, and his assured finish from the edge of the box sent the home fans into dreamland.
Resolute defending right until deep into injury time meant this hard fought battling display yielded our best result of the season by far.
